Over three and half years ago, I returned to college to get my art education teaching degree and my Masters's in Art Education. I have worked as a graphic and web designer for over twenty years.

For my documented study, I decided to explore identity through fiber arts because my other creative outlet has been designing and creating costumes for musical theater productions. So how did I get involved with sewing costumes? My mom was a home economics teacher, so I learned how to sew around eight years old.  I loved designing and making outfits for my dolls, and then as I got older, I learned how to sew clothes. When I went to Kutztown University, I took two electives in costume design because I love musical theater.

Fast forward to 2000, I was working at Roland Park Country School as a webmaster. By chance, the school theater director sent out an email asking if anyone might know someone who could sew men's period jackets for the production of The Marriage of Figaro. I replied I would be interested in helping out, and since then, I have designed and costumed various musicals and dance productions in local theaters.
